Shooting instruction done by Triple Threat
Hoops is for boys and girls grades four
and above who are serious about improving
their game. The state-of-the-art program
comes from Coach Bailey's years of
experience working with the high school
basketball players he coached who were
chosen All-League, All-District,
All-State, State Player of the Year, and
Parade All-American. These players later
went on to play at the collegiate level.
Allen Iverson, Tony Rutland, Corey
Stewart, and Chevy Troutman have played
professionally.
Allen Iverson has been an eight-time NBA
All-Star, a four-time NBA Scoring Leader,
a two-time MVP of the NBA All-Star Game,
and the MVP of the NBA in 2001. Tony
Rutland was MVP of the Austria League in
2000. Tony has played with two NBA MVP's -
Allen Iverson at Bethel High School and
Tim Duncan at Wake Forest University.
Corey Stewart played his college
basketball at the University of Virginia
and North Carolina-Wilmington before
playing professional basketball in South
America. Chevy Troutman is currently
playing professionally in France following
a stellar collegiate career at the
University of Pittsburgh where he shot 62%
from the floor.
Coach Bailey has partnered with Mel Curtis
and has worked with more than 100 players
in central Pennsylvania at the Moshannon
Valley YMCA. Workouts consisted of three
components:
Skill Development
Shooting instruction done by Triple Threat
Hoops, Incorporated, uses a
state-of-the-art program with advanced
technology to:
1) refine and analytically breakdown the
following proper shooting mechanics with
slow motion and frame by frame
* proper footwork
* balanced base
* proper hand positioning on the ball
* power and timing during fully extended release
* consistent follow-through
2) improve shooting rhythm and range
* shoot quickly
* shoot accurately
3) improve technique
* mid-range jumpers
off the pass, mid-range jumpers off the
cut, mid-range jumpers off the dribble
* three-pointers off the pass, three-pointers off the cut,
three-pointers off the dribble
* foul shooting
Each player's shooting results are
recorded and can be used for:
1) individual rankings
2) shooting leagues
3) shooting workouts can be taped and
added to a player's library
Ball-handling and explosive open floor
dribble moves are taught in conjunction
with the shooting program to give each
player the edge necessary to be an
offensive threat for his or her team.
Constant drilling have made the former
players associated with Triple Threat
Hoops the game changing performers they
became for their teams whether it be in
high school, college, or pro basketball.

* functional flexibility routine and dynamic warm-up

Triple Threat Hoops will also conduct
basketball combines utilizing the
following tests:
1) one-step vertical jump
2) 20 meter dash
3) overhead power ball throw
4) agility cone test
5) endurance jump
Triple Threat Mental Training Techniques
1) self-talk
2) relaxation
3) visualization
4) concentration
5) goal setting
Triple Threat Advanced Technology
1) shooting is taped and downloaded into
player libraries using for:
* a visual baseline of current shooting mechanics
* a virtual shooting workout for two campers at different locations
to compete
* an additional way for college recruiters to evaluate a
prospective recruit
2) study clips of great shooters are
viewed in a classroom setting
3) study clips of Allen Iverson's open
floor moves
Coach Bailey is very proud of the young
men and young women who have worked so
hard at improving their game to have the
edge in game competition. Here are
outstanding high school performances by
Triple Threat alumni:
* Dan Lewis, Penns Valley High School, scored 39 points in a
district play-off game
* Andrew Kerr, State College High School, scored 40 points against
a state-ranked team at Bucknell
University.
* Eli Hanna set a Central Mountain High School single game scoring
record with 41points in a regular season
game
